Brian Dawson
President and Chief Executive Officer
In 1999, Brian Dawson became President and Chief Executive Officer of Tel-Tron Technologies Corporation and the third generation to lead the company founded by his grandfather in 1945.
Brian worked his way through virtually every area of Tel-Tron including: production, purchasing, accounting, sales, installation and distribution. In his time as CEO, he has taken the company from a small regional firm working in one technology to being a national leader in life safety systems using several integrated technologies.
He holds a B.A. in Business Administration from Colorado State University.
Rick Dawson
Chief Technology Officer
Rick Dawson is Chairman, Treasurer and Chief Technology Officer of Tel-Tron Technologies Corporation. A design engineer by trade, Rick is the son of Herman L. Dawson, who founded Tel-Tron in 1945. His engineering and technology experience continue to contribute to the company’s growth and leadership in the senior living industry.
Active in the National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA), Dawson has chaired the Technical Committee responsible for Nurse Call and Emergency Call Systems. He also sits on the Standards Panels that are responsible for UL Standards for Nurse Call, Emergency Call, and Smoke Warning systems and Chaired the Task Group that wrote UL2560. Standard for Emergency Call Systems for Assisted Living and Independent Living.
Rick Taylor
Senior Vice President, Market Expansion
Rick Taylor provides leadership and sales marketing expertise to enhance the competitive position of Tel-Tron Technologies across the United States. Through the development of short and long-range strategies for distribution, national accounts and building strategic industry partnerships, he has helped grow the company while providing quality service to Tel-Tron customers.
He is a member of The Executive Committee, an 8,000-member organization of corporate executives, and The Assisted Living Federation of America and AAHSA.
He earned a B.A. degree in Social Science from Colorado State University.
Malcolm Graham
Senior Vice President, Operations
With nearly two decades of experience in the technology field, Malcolm’s knowledge of Tel-Tron systems is unsurpassed. Malcolm served in the United States Marine Corps as an Aviation Flight Control Systems Analyst; he also has experience working for Dell Computers and Siemens.
With numerous industry certifications including: MCSE (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer), CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) A+ (CompTIA) Network+ (CompTIA) Security+ (CompTIA), Malcolm is highly qualified to serve as a senior technology leader at Tel-Tron.
Malcolm has a degree BS Computer Engineering Technologies from ITT Technical University.
Melinda Dawson
Vice President, Profit Management
As a Vice President, Melinda’s responsibilities include all accounting and HR aspects of the company. She ensures that Tel-Tron maintains a sound fiscal position that allows for future expansion and growth.
Melinda served as a board member of the Volusia Manufacturers Association and president of the Junior League of Daytona Beach; she is currently on the boards for the American Cancer Society East Central Coastal Unit and the Museum of Arts and Sciences.
She holds a BA degree from Furman University in Music and Business Administration.
Buddy Krug
Vice President, Engineering
In his role, Buddy leads the technology development and innovation for Tel-Tron’s product line, including all aspects of hardware, firmware, and software design.
Prior to joining Tel-Tron, Buddy held director-level engineering positions at successful technology startups, as well as process-oriented established companies. His leadership and design expertise includes hardware, firmware, and software design as applied to highly-reliable embedded systems.
Buddy earned a BS Electrical Engineering degree from the University of Maryland, completed Master’s-level engineering studies at George Mason University, and holds several US patents.
Todd Hudgins
Vice President of Business Development
Todd Hudgins drives the strategic direction of the executive sales team at Tel-Tron. Providing short range initiatives to develop long range goals, while cultivating individual talent, is his contribution to company growth. Through creating a culture of consultation among the team, he ensures that Tel-Tron has a true understanding of the outcomes critical to the success of our clients.
He has experienced rapid growth in his areas of expertise and has been an executive in the senior living industry since 2008. Years of executive sales experience coupled with a lifetime of coaching elite individuals allows Todd to excel at understanding the needs of both individuals and the enterprise alike.
Jason Rogers
Director, Marketing & Product Management
In his role, Jason manages Tel-Tron’s innovative product portfolio, go-to-market strategies, and marketing programs. He oversees the design, creation, and improvement of all of Tel-Tron’s products.
In addition, he directs the marketing, sales, and development teams with a special focus on delivering an exceptional user experience, continuous innovation, and highly relevant marketing.
Prior to joining Tel-Tron in 2005, Jason created, led, and managed several key organizations and technologies for Fortune 1000 company Convergys. In 2002, Jason made the move into full-time Marketing, forming and leading a marketing communications organization specializing in digital media production and automated technology demonstrations, supporting the company’s product marketing plan.
Jim Townsend
Production Manager
Jim Townsend is Tel-Tron Technologies’ manager of plant operations. His responsibilities include: manufacturing, production engineering and emergency call product/systems assembly and testing.
Through Jim’s caring leadership, his team comes to work each day believing that their quality workmanship guided by Tel-Tron’s top-down the work ethic, result in superior life safety systems for the senior living industry.
Jim is active with the Volusia Manufacturers Association and the Advanced Technology Center in Daytona Beach, Florida, where he shares his expertise with students who are learning various commercial and technology trades.
